The Idea
Established during the summer of 2010, the Vaders was a product of a couple of different groups of friends coming together with the idea of creating a new club where they had control of how it was run and what type of person could be involved. After years of playing for different teams throughout Maesteg and encountering problems with other players, coaches and committee members, the idea of the Vaders was born. After securing a base at The Garth Inn pub, players and friends attempted to name the club, finally deciding on Garth Vader FC (final credit to Gareth Blackwell I believe?).
Getting Started
After initial ideas of who would play and who would be involved in running the Vaders, original Club Secretary Robert Boydell, took the bull by the horns and pushed everything forward to make it all possible. Securing sponsorship funds from brother and teammate Richard (company United Graphic Design), the Vaders were able to register with the Bridgend & District Sunday League and purchase their first kit.
