In what was probably one of the worst games in Sunday League history, the Vaders just scraped a deserved 3 points as everything went against them in a second half which seemed about 2 hours long.

A decent start with some great quick passing by Gareth Blackwell and Tom McCluskie saw Richard Boydell through on goal down the left and his tame effort somehow krept inside the near post. Plenty of attacks followed but the final ball or quality of the shooting was no good, not helped by the flat balls we were having to play with.

A sloppy goal conceded from a free kick put Llangeinor level but it wasn’t long until the Vaders were back in control. Gareth Hanbury finishing well after the keeper could only parry a 25 yard strike from Richard Boydell. Tom McCluskie was provider again soon after as Tom Thornton calmly slotted the ball in the far corner.

The second half started much the same and the Vaders spawned chance after chance as they failed to make the most of their superiority. But it wasn’t too long before Jordan Tompkinson made it 4-1 with an easy finish after good work again by Tom McCluskie.

Then it all went down hill. Debutant Garnon Thornton had to leave the field due to injury and with no subs left, the Vaders had 20 mins with 10 men. Just to make things even harder, the referee decided to give a goal which was 2 yards from crossing the line, despite being about 40 yards away from the action.

The Vaders were annoyed and started to lose their heads, soon Llangeinor got a third and were piling the pressure on. Then with 2 minutes to go, disaster. Tom Evans accidentally handling a cross in the box to give Llangeinor a penalty. 4-4, 2 minutes to go.

The Vaders approached the kick off with the aim of piling men forward in one last attack. But Tom McCluskie had other ideas and decided to shoot from the kick off. All looked lost, but a loose goal kick landed at Jordan Tompkinson’s feet, who fed Richard Boydell down the right, who got clattered right in the corner. A quickly taken free kick was crosed in and Alex Blacker rose to score a header in the dying seconds. Do you know he has now scored 2 goals in 2 games and that he is a #beast? Well, you do now. Blacker you #beast.

This game can be erased from the memory, it was that bad.
