Match Day Squad
November 5th, 2014 // Team News // Richard Boydell
Thanks for the effort so far this season lads, we’ve had really good numbers most weeks and the commitment has made it much easier than the last 2 seasons.
But, it has also caused some headaches too, and that’s why I’m proposing this to you. With the amount of attacking players we have it’s been a real struggle to get everyone a game each week and there’s quite a few boys, like Blackie, Ieuan, Twm & Jordan to name a few who have not had their fair share of game time, sometimes only having 15 minutes at the end. It’s also been a pain having to take players off to give everyone time when we are chasing a game or maybe the player coming off is playing really well.
We all want to win games but I also want to be fair to everyone, I’ve missed a few games myself to lessen the headache so I know how it feels to not play too.
What I’m proposing is once I get confirmation that you’re available for the coming weekend, I will then pick a squad of 15 players and try to keep it more balanced so the subs make more sense. We’ll no doubt have a few who said yes still not turn up, so we may need some on standby just in case we are short. If you do confirm you’re available and you don’t turn up without a valid reason, then obviously you will move down in the pecking order as it’s not fair on the players showing commitment each week.
Then, if you are not in the squad for that week, you will definitely be in the following one (or the next one you’re available for) to keep it fair. Obviously if you work shifts etc then you will be in for the weeks you’re available.
This is all to give everyone more playing time per game, keep the team balanced and give us a better chance of winning. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas of your own.
Also, I really need to collect the outstanding Reg Fees for the season for those who have not paid still. I have paid for the ref out of my own pocket the last 2 weeks. You can even pay with your card below if it’s easier, just change the Quantity to the amount you owe:
Outstanding Fees
Clucky £5
Tom £10
Sniffer £20
Rob, Cwtch, Blacker, Gazza, Evans, Kurt, Morgan, Chocky & Gavin £30

The less said about this match against those classless wankers, the better. Let’s just say good luck to Rage FFC, who face them in the next round.

Another strong performance and impressive win for the Vaders yesterday as they finished strongly with plenty of goals for the second week running.
A good start saw the Vaders take an early 2-0 lead as Kurt Vincent opened the scoring after good work from Morgan Evans on the right, and then Alex #beast Blacker made it 2 with a good header from Tom Evans’ throw in.
The rest of the half provided little in chances for both teams and the Vaders came in half time comfortably 2 goals up.
A slow start to the second half got even worse when Tom Evans give away a penalty which was well converted. The game seemed in the balance and looked like it could fizzle into nothing for the Vaders. But a very well timed goal from Tom Thornton put the spring back in the Vaders step and it was the most important goal of the match.
The Vaders then went on another rampage similar to last week, providing chance after chance and getting another 3 goals through an O.G (sorry Chock), Jordan Tompkinson and new signing Andrew Bowden. The Vaders somehow finished the game with 5 forwards on the pitch, having already subbed 2 as well, but the game was way out of sight already.
We move up to third in the league and a nice little positive goal difference for a change! It was also good to see Ieuan Morris back in a Vaders jersey, hopefully there’ll be many more to come.
Next week we go to West House for the Open Cup. Hopefully we can get a win after coming so close in the Cup against them last season.
